“A Grand Tamil Wedding at Emperors Palace: Celebrating Keven and Lerusha’s Love”
A Paheli Wedding
Keven & Lerusha
When I first had the pleasure of meeting Lerusha and Keven, a full two years before their special day, I asked them a question I often pose to couples in the early stages of planning their wedding: “What is the one thing you absolutely want, and what is the one thing you absolutely don’t want, at your wedding?”
Without a moment’s hesitation, Keven replied, “I want everyone to enjoy the day as much as the couple, and I want a reception that is nothing short of grand!”
His answer was a testament to the couple’s desire to create an experience that would be memorable, not just for themselves, but for all their loved ones who would be sharing in their joy. And as it turned out, they succeeded beyond their wildest dreams.
Their wedding day was a celebration of love and culture, with a traditional Tamil ceremony that was steeped in symbolism and meaning. But it was the reception that truly stole the show, with opulent decorations, sumptuous food, and music that had everyone dancing until the wee hours of the morning.
As I looked around the room, I could see that Keven’s wish had come true. Everyone was beaming with happiness, caught up in the magic of the moment. It was a wedding that no one would forget, a true reflection of the love and commitment that Lerusha and Keven share.
Wedding day!
On a beautiful day, Keven and Lerusha celebrated their love with a grand Tamil wedding in the East of Johannesburg. The day was filled with traditions, love, and joy that left an everlasting impression on everyone who attended.
Décor and Design
The décor at the ceremony and reception were a sight to behold, with elegant and intricate details that reflected the couple’s style and personality. The centerpieces were adorned with beautiful flowers, and the lighting created a warm and romantic ambiance that made the evening truly special. Ravi and his team at Azaria’s worked tirelessly to bring to life the carefully curated elements all styled by the bride herself.
Bridal styling
The bride and groom were adorned in beautiful outfits made of soft silk, coordinated and styled to match the décor. The traditional Tamil wedding attire is known for its vibrant colors and intricate designs that reflect the culture and heritage of Tamil Nadu.
Exquisite bridal creations styled and dressed Lerusha to perfection from hair, make up and sari draping. Henna was done by Seema who once again, had some intricate and classic designs on hand for Lerusha to choose from.
Photography & Videography
Keven and Lerusha’s desire for a private moment to capture their couple shoot and first reveal before the ceremony was met with a booking at a photo studio. Shezaad and Imtiaz skillfully brought the couple’s vision to life by capturing stunning images of their creative spaces and contrasting colors. The result was a beautiful and memorable photo session that perfectly captured the couple’s love and unique style.
The Ceremony
The wedding ceremony was filled with many rituals, including the tying of the Thali, which symbolizes the union of the bride and groom. The Thali, also known as the Mangalsutra, is a sacred necklace made of gold and black beads that is tied around the bride’s neck by the groom. The ceremony was performed under a beautifully decorated pandal, surrounded by friends and family, as the couple exchanged their vows and promises to each other.
Entertainment
One of the highlights of the day was the entertainment, which featured a talented team of performers who kept the guests entertained throughout the celebrations.
The Chillifunk team was responsible for the audiovisual and entertainment aspects of the day, and they certainly did not disappoint. They brought out their A-team, with MC Addz leading the charge. Not only did he emcee the event with style and grace, but he also wowed the guests with his singing during canapes.
The entertainment did not stop there. Oriental Fire, a renowned dance troupe, welcomed guests before the ceremony with a spectacular bharat natyam dance performance. The energy and grace of the dancers captivated the audience, setting the stage for a truly memorable day.
The Chillifunk team also provided a range of audiovisual services, from state-of-the-art sound and lighting to video projection and DJ services. They worked tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure that every detail was perfect, creating a seamless and unforgettable experience for the couple and their guests.
Throughout the day, the guests were entertained with a range of musical performances, from traditional Tamil music to contemporary hits that had everyone up and dancing. The entertainment was a true reflection of Keven and Lerusha’s personalities and style, creating a celebration that was uniquely theirs.
